Day Trips to the Great Barrier Reef
Southern Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is the only living structure that can been seen from space and extends for 2300 kilometres from Town of 1770 in the south past the tip of Cape York Peninsula in the north.
It contains over 600 continental islands, 350 coral cays and is comprised of approximately 3400 individual reefs.

We run trips to various sections of the reef including Lady Musgrave Island, Hoskyn Island, Fairfax Island, Llewellyn Reef, Fitzroy Reef and Boult Reef. This pristine enviroment makes for some spectacular diving. There are approximately 2800 species of fish, 400 types of coral, 15 species of sea snake and 6 species of turtle within this area.
Manta rays, dolphins, dugongs and during the winter months, the beautiful humpback whales are all regularly seen on the reef.
Wreck Diving
We have access to a number of wrecks which provide exceptional diving. The sites range in experience levels from open water to technical divers and they have something for everyone. We dive the Karma, Cetacea & Barcoola wrecks and the quantity of marine life has to be seen to be believed. Sea snakes, large cod, trevally, batfish, yellow tail, cobia and wobbegong sharks all make regular appearances at these dive sites. |

Local Dive Sites
There are a host of great dive sites located just offshore from the 1770 marina including Pancake Creek and the 3 rock pinnacles of Bustard Head. The depths range from 10-35 metres and feature hard and soft corals with tropical and temperate marine life. We also do night dives in Round Hill Creek. |
